Imagination
Most of us dream. Some dream of things. Some dream of places. You’d think from my pictures that I dream of places. But it’s not the place that I think of when pondering a beautiful picture. It’s the feeling that the picture gives when one imagines themselves in that place.
Imagination.
The picture above is a perfect example. Having only stopped to snap this shot, there is much that could be imagined to do at this place.
A fisherman such as myself would imagine putting on waders, finding an easy place to climb down and then stepping into the water with anticipation knowing that there is a beautiful mountain trout waiting for his fly.
A hiker would see the trail in the back and imagine what it would be like to muddy their boots along the path that meanders along the meandering creek.
A birder would see this spot and imagine what kind of birds would be flitting from bush to bush just waiting for them to be caught in the spectacle of birder’s binocular in all it’s glory.
There are many ways we can let our imaginations run wild when we see a complex image such as the one above, but first, you must let yourself dream. We often get so lost in the complexities of life that we stop being able to dream.
This was my case, and if it can happen to me, someone who grew up loving the outdoors, it can happen to anyone.
My pictures are here to encourage you to dream again. To get out of the office and out from under the fluorescent lights and go do some dreaming of your own. If you must, grab one of my pictures to help you to remember to dream. That’s why they are here.
